Places to Visit Near Nyaung Shwe


(1) Inle Lake

Inle Lake is Myanmar’s second-largest inland lake. It is about 22 km long (North to South) and 11 km wide (East to West). Our hotel is located near the jetty to Inle Lake and 3 minutes walking distance. Inle Lake has a number of places and villages in and around that quite interesting and worth visiting. They are

  • Inpaw Khone Village (Lotus weaving, Silk weaving)
  • Nampan Village (Alodaw Pout Pagoda, Cigarette making industry, Boat making industry, and Black-smith workshop)
  • Thar Lay Village (Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda)
  • Ywama Village (Shan papermaking industry, long neck lady and Silver Smith)
  •  Kay Lar Village (Floating garden)
  •  Nga Phal Chaung Village (Ancient Monastery) and
  • Indein Village (Indein Pagoda).


(2) Taunggyi

Taunggyi is the capital of Shan State. Taunggyi is at an elevation of 4,712ft (1,436m) above sea level. It is 45 minutes drive from our hotel. It is a hill station and gateway to Kakku Historical Zone. The interesting places to visit around this region are

(3) Aung Pan

It is located at 4219ft (1286m) above sea level and 1:30 hours drive from our hotel. It is a major trading town and in the southern Shan State of Myanmar that supplies agricultural yield to the rest of the country. You can buy local products and fruits there such as fried potatoes crackers, tofu crackers, preserved peach, oranges, etc.



(4) Kalaw

It is located 1320 meter above sea level and 2 hours drive from our hotel. It is a popular hill station, a peaceful and quiet place pleasantly cool, and a good place for hiking and relaxing. There has also many places to visit.
